Crawford featured in a recent episode of the US version of Who Do You Think You Are?, a large portion of which was given over to her ancestor, Thomas Trowbridge, who emigrated to New Haven to join a Puritan colony before returning to England in 1641 to fight for Parliament. Here Trowbridge served as a Captain under Robert Blake, with primary sources documenting his presence at the Siege of Taunton.
